Oracle announces BPM Suite 11g
KARACHI (August 26, 2010): To help customers lower costs, adapt to change and simplify business process management, Oracle announced on Tuesday that Oracle Business Process Management Suite 11g, the industry's most complete, open and integrated Business Process Management (BPM) solution, which supports all types of processes with a new unified process foundation, user-centric design and social BPM capabilities.



Ministry progressing on E-office programme meticulously
ISLAMABAD (August 21, 2010): The Ministry of Information Technology on Friday claimed that the ministry was progressing on its E-office programme strictly in accordance with the contract agreement signed between Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) and LMKR for development of E-office software.



'CMMI Version 1.2': NetSol first Pakistani companies to be re-assessed
LAHORE (August 21, 2010): NetSol Techno-logies has won the truly outstanding distinction of becoming the first Pakistani company to be re-assessed at Maturity Level 5 against CMMI(r) Version 1.2 by Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI). India-Pakistan 'cyberwar' claims high-profile victim
MUMBAI (August 18, 2010): The "cyberwar" between India and Pakistan has claimed another victim, with the hacking of a high-profile lawmaker's website that experts say highlights the woeful lack of Internet security in South Asia. A group calling itself the Pakistan Cyber Army said it hacked into the website of independent Indian MP Vijay Mallya, a flamboyant liquor baron, who is also head of Kingfisher Airlines and the Force One Formula One racing team.



Mobile software 'City Xplorer' launched
KARACHI (August 17, 2010): Grey Lines Studio, a mobile software company held the launch of its new 'City Xplorer' at Marriott, Karachi. Grey Lines Studio's latest software is promising and is surely going to be successful. The software is one of its kind, the first ever mobile yellow pages software. The software can be installed on almost all mobile phones for free.

Manufacturing IT/power equipment: French investor assures PCA of expanding operations
ISLAMABAD (August 09, 2010): A leading global investor in IT and power sectors has assured the Pakistan Computer Association (PCA) about expanding their operations in Pakistan to increase investment in manufacturing of equipment of IT/power sector in the country.



ITCN Asia 2010 opens without formal ceremony
KARACHI (August 04, 2010): The ITCN Asia 2010 on Tuesday kicked off at the Expo Centre without a formal inauguration ceremony due to unrest in the city. Federal IT Secretary Naguibullah Malik, who was supposed to inaugurate the fair, could not reach the Expo Centre due to the widespread violence in the metropolis. Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Muhammad Yasin also could not reach the event because of the circumstances.



Petition seeking permanent ban on Facebook filed
LAHORE (July 27, 2010): A petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permanent ban on Facebook, a social networking website, in Pakistan pointing out introduction of another anti-Islam competition by the website. The website had already faced an interim ban in country for holding a blasphemous caricature competition.



Foreign entrepreneur keen to invest in IT sector
ISLAMABAD (July 26, 2010): Foreign entrepreneur of computer sector has assured the Pakistan Computer Association (PCA) for making huge foreign investment in the computer and Information Technology sector in view of huge potential of computer industry in Pakistan.
